What is it Like to BE You? Rethinking the Ways We Understand Autistic Experiences in the Neurodiversity Movement

Log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

Join Rachel - a licensed clinical social worker, educator, multiply neurodivergent person and parent - for a discussion of their experiences joining autistic folks of all ages on a journey of self-discovery, and partnering with families and constellations of care to center radical acceptance.

Rachel will share how they make sense of their experience, education and training in trauma-informed care + autism assessment and support, how they encourage other professionals to join them in (un)learning, and how they are working to uplift the experiences of autistic women, queer, transgender, non-binary and gender non-conforming folks.  Rachel will also share a brief introduction to the Neurodiversity Movement, and how centering acceptance and inclusion without contingency in our homes, schools, and therapy rooms is necessary for a society in which all brains, bodies and people are inherently valued and respected.
